Introduction
The Archives section of SouWiki is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing historical materials related to the Sourashtra community. These may include government records, letters, manuscripts, old newspapers, publications, family documents, photos, and any other material that reflects our journey through history.
Our aim is to build a trustworthy digital repository — a space where researchers, students, and community members can access authentic information about our people, migration, traditions, and contributions to society.
📜 What Can Be Included
Anyone may contribute materials that help document our community’s story, such as:
- Historical government documents or gazette records mentioning Sourashtras
- Old community magazines or association newsletters
- Archival photos of people, events, or traditional crafts
- Translated inscriptions, manuscripts, or temple records
- Audio or video recordings that preserve oral traditions
- Academic papers or research work related to Sourashtras
🧭 How to Add to the Archives
To contribute:
- Create a new page with a descriptive title — for example,
**“Madurai Gazette – 1905 Mention of Sourashtras”**
- Add relevant details such as source, date, and a brief summary.
- Upload supporting files if available (PDFs, images, etc.).
- At the bottom of the page, include this line:
